hi guys, my fish is now floating on its side. i just gave him a saltbath (1 tbsp in 1L water) When/if should he be feeling better?? I have him in a hospital tank hoping that he will get better. It was determined that he was constipated earlier this week. but, he now seems to be deteriorating.

i have been doing water changes everyday to insure water quality.

does anyone have any other suggestions??
Athena
Has your tank cycled yet? What are your water parameters?

Sounds like an internal infection, but as Athena said, we need to know all the info requested in the red box (above) to make an accurate diagnosis. smile.gif

doherty2, I am having the same problem now..although water quality seems ok (Am0, Nitri0, pH7.2, Nitra ?). I initially diagnosed SBD/constipation too sad.gif It's just floating head down, sideways, upsidedown (just a tad) although it is able to swim when it wants to for a bit.I've isolated it now, and don't know if it'll survive...been having probs since new! (btw, I keep my tank 0.1-0.2 % salted at the moment...been told it eases stress.

aww thank you so much. My boyfriend tried to help me out by bringing me a 'furreal pet' puppy. it was very sweet of him but he does not nor, can not replace my little boy.
