Hi everyone,

I've mentioned this somewhere but haven't really thought about it as a potential problem. Two of my goldies have been doing this so far...let's say once or twice a day. Water params: Amm 0, NitrIte 0, pH 7 - 7.2, 0.1% salted, 2 3-inch goldies in 20G. I had major planaria dramas 3 months back, but I don't think I've seen them anymore after overcoming that (water changes). Goldies are behaving normally, just occasional "fin flashing" let's say. They've not done any flashing in the "sudden darting" sense, just fin movements.

Goldies do flick their fins occasionally, but if they do it more than twice a day - max - you might be looking at a parasite problem (possibly flukes). I would just monitor them for now. smile.gif

That's normal.. would you be scratching your head or anywhere else in each day? excesive scratching spells skin problem, but we still scratch ourselves a few times per day even when there is no REAL problem.. but when we scratch, we scratch for a reason - irritation.. that means something is irritating the fishes though not harmful and could be normal or maybe it is just their habit... dun worry.. jus keep an eye (guess you eye them too much that it seems like you are staring already) on your fishes for ABNORMAL behavior and take note on water parameters...

I am still fighting hard against PH even when I know my feeding pattern is causing the problem as well as over stocking is contributing to it.. Well, I am promoting Quick and Health grow as they need the protein constantly.. thus I added a new tank..

get water parameter right and you should have much to worry about.. any worries, dun think, jus go ahead and change water before pondering any further...

cheers
