Hi Guys and Gals

As some of you may know I bought a new tank 2 weeks ago because my old tank was leaking. I have very limited space in my house so I had to remove the old tank from where it was standing, put the new one in space and add my goldfish (who is now dead from a bogwood accident sadly sad.gif ) While removing the old tank I syphoned almost all of the water into a bucket and then put the fish in the same bucket. I removed all the gravel and put it in my new tank without cleaning it and put all my ornaments and filter pads into my new filter without cleaning any of it. I then added some new water and let it settle down for about an hour before starting to add some of the old aquarium water to the tank along with my original fantail.

For future reference and piece of mind my question is did I do anything wrong?? should the tank of been cycled before I added my fantail and in the process did I do everything ok?
Im still new to keeping fish properly and all the advice you could give me would be great.

Thanks for reading!!!!

With any new tank, you need to let it run for 24 hours without
any fish in. (new tank syndrome) Otherwise it sounds like
you did what I've done for setting up new tanks. smile.gif The more
stuff you can transfer with good bio bugs the better.
