Hello
all im back sadly no Betta yet as i went to the pet shop (im in the uk) and they said i needed a heater now on a previous post i was told some of you dont have heaters....
so at present im doing a fishless cycle and my bio-orb which is just under 8uk gallens is in my lounge i suppose it is warm in my lounge.

what do you all think as if you have seen my posts you may remember i have had some bad luck
and did not want to give up on fish keeping, fingers crossed this time.

What sort of temperature do you have in your lounge? The best thing to do would be to put an aquarium thermometer in the tank, and see what the water temperature would stay at. If it is about 72 f. or so, I would say that you would be OK. Bettas like temperatures in the mid 70's up to the low 80's. They can survive outside of that but not lower than 68 f. on a regular basis or above 90 f. for long periods of time.

BTW, if you have a light on the tank, that will warm the water up during the day, but it will drop back at night. A slight fluctuation between day and night is OK, though.
