I have 1 fantail and he or she is about 1" long, and it's in a (gasp) 2 gallon tank, which I was told was fine for the time being, I had 2 fish but one kept dieing I figure it's because the tank was too small, I'm considering getting an Eclipse 12 gallon tank and another fish (I don't believe the 10 gallon rule, I had 2 fantails in high school in a 10 gallon and they lived for years). Anyway, I had a couple questions, I always buy spring water to put in the tank, is it ok to use tap water? I also know that the tank shouldn't be in sunlight, but is some sunlight ok? Maybe for about 2 hrs. in the morning? Thanks for any help.

wink.gif Im glad to see theres someone who agrees with me about the 10 gallon rule being too cautious. In england we cannot use tap water, so we have to use water-conditioner. Im not sure what the water contents are in USA but I would continue to use tap water if you can or buy a water conditioner. They are quite cheap and they really do work well.
