Hey I have a 10 gallon tank with 1 goldfish and i am planning on getting a mystery snail...either black or gold cuz i dont wanna get babies... do you think 1 is enough and do you know what one is better from experience???

If I get 1 gold and 1 black will they mate??? lol

They may mate if one is male and one is female. I'd get both.

If you get snail eggs.. you can always get rid of them...

Ok at petsmart they said if you get one snail it will make babies by itself???? is that true??? i really dont want more snails so could i dispose of the eggs they lay??? How often do they lay eggs and how many?
I dont have any real plants in my tank its plastic plants with a goldfish... i get alot of algae so is that good along with sum cucumber???

u can just scoop out the eggs and boil them but with apple snails you need 2 male and female snails to mate

apple snails eat algea leftover fish foos lettuce and most greens you might wnat to consider feeding them more than just cumcuber so they can have a more varied diet

I though snails can change sexes?
Like if there is 2 snails and one is a male and the other is
a male one of them can tunr into a female
so they may mate? im not sure i remember reading this
about snails.

Not checking the ph in over 1 year is a very bad thing.
I check mine at least every 2 weeks.
I recomend you to test your water just in case

Just wondering what type of fish do you have in that 10 gallon?
Usally in back of the medicals box,there is the explications
and will tell you if you can use it with snails and live plants
in the Aquarium ect ect.

[SIZE=7]i have a Tancho...a type of koi... is ph that important for koi and will the snail be ok in teh water??? do i need to buy a natural stone in order to release calcium to give my snail a healthy shell.... will the stone disrupt my fish??? or is it safe?

someone correct me on this but i think you can get some clean eggshells and put them in net or something like that and hang it in you tank if you need to increase your calcium. i have 4 goldfish and a snail and they dont bother each other. my snail will also eat a grape half like a pig. never had any babies either, but i only have one snail and he doesnt even bother my real plants in the tank

How big is your koi? because he may
be to big and eat that poor snail?
Yes,egg sheels have lots of calcium in them
