How do you tell the difference between a male and female betta? Do the males have white dots on their gills like goldfish do? Does a female have an outy anus? huh.gif
touchofsky
Females have a little white dot called an ovipositor. You can see it just before the start of their anal fin.

Plus a female has a smaller tail than a male some even some females are smaller than a male but some may get as big as a male. Here is a site that will help alot.

Thankyou everyone! biggrin.gif I think I might try to breed bettas. biggrin.gif
Black oranda
smile.gif you should read alot before breeding
many people should reconsider when they think of
breeding bettas.
You will need at least a 10 or 5 gallon.
And will need at least 100 jars with filtration.
So after sexeing them (seeing who is a guy and who is a girl)
But the females usally could stay togther.

Any way good luck wink.gif
