HELP HELP! huh.gif

Lots of eggs in the 30G tank (about 200+).

How do I know if the eggs are fertilized or not.

So are white, some are cleared.

I also have a Magnum 350 running, should I turn off the filtered.

What should I do next?

I have six adult goldfish in the tank.

Any help will be great!

Thanks in advance.

you should remove the eggs to another tank
or separate enclosure-find something
otherwise they may get eaten by their parents
the clear ones are fertilised egg while the white ones
with fungus are no good and must be removed
or else they will infect the other eggs
also remember to keep the egg underwater at all times and
avoid handling them if possible
if the eggs are on the aquarium glass you have to remove them reallygently
not too much pressure or else they will burst
also remember to use the same water in your aquarium
too much change in the environment can have adverse effects

Thanks for the info.

I have remove the adult fish from the tank.

But it is hard to remove the white unfertilized eggs.

There are just so so so many of the them and good eggs.

How bad is to leave the bad eggs in with the good ones?

They are on the plants and over the tank. I large size pebbles are gravel.

Moving the pebbles seems danger might kill a few good eggs.

I think there over five hundred eggs in the tank if not more.

I see over a hundred pairs of eyes now.

Oh My GOD! purpban.gif

Also cut down on Magnum pump flow.

Should I add a air pump and buy food for these guy.

Are you plants fake? Forget about taking the eggs off, and just pull them out of the tank and into a bucket of tank water, or whereever you plan on moving them too.

Use your finger and just remove the all white ones. They will grow fungus and it will infect all the clear eggs.

You can expose the eggs to air to transfer them to whereever they are going, but do not let them dry out.

Nevermind I read that you took the adults out wink.gif

Yes you should try to remove all the white eggs that you can. They will infect the good eggs.

Rising baby fish is fun but it takes a lot of work. I have about 50 baby goldfish now and they are 3 weeks old.

Leaving bad eggs there would be fine. Fungi will only infect contacted eggs, will not infect eggs that are far away. Keep the pump running is also fine, since eggs are sticking to wherever they land. This way you can keep the water moving and improve water quality. If you have some eggs stick to the filter, you can wash them out.

What I did was took the adult fish out, turn off the pump at the third night. On the forth day lots of fry hatched out. I waited until the fifth day, then scoped all fry to a smaller tank using a cup.

Raising baby fish with baby shrimp is less messy. I used boiled egg yolk at the beginning and had to change water almost every meal. I keep the pump in the small tank on, but use a tank divider to separate baby fish away from the waterfall. The water inlet is actually at the baby fish side and I have a cheesecloth wrap on it.

The mother of my baby fish is a redcap oranda and the father is a red fantail. They are actually very young, with two and half and three inches in length including the tails. Because of that, this breeding is an accident since I wasn't expecting it. I can't wait to see how the babies will turn out.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks for the info. Oh is it a lot of work or what!

I have been doing a lot of work for these little guys for the past few nights.

Today is the fifth day and half of the eggs have hatched.

I have about two hundred plus babies fish now.

I have put them in 8 separate containers to hatch from.

I have discover that if you remove the eggs from the first thing they were sticking to.

They seem to hatch faster.

Can someone confirm that?

I don't know what kind of goldfish it is.

Planning on using egg yolk and brime shrimp as food also.

But the egg yolk sounds like a lot work.

Have to think of something for filtering the water.

I brought a brime shrimp net for $1.39 that seems to work great to scope them.

I have taken lots of pictures to track their progress.

I hope I can be successful in raising them to adults.

I have a 900 gal. pond waiting for their occupancy.

Pondandfish, congratulation for the baby fish!

Using egg yolk is not that bad if you know how much to put. I always overfeed them since I always worry if some would starve to death. Later I realized they would not be able to eat a lot any way and four drops in half gallon is good enough. I also divided fry to two containers at the beginning, thinking if anything went wrong with one, at least I would still have the other.

Is your pond established with algae growing in it? If that is the case, it might be better just put the fry in the pond so that they can have a constant supply of the food by eating 'infusonia' in the pond.

You should also have plants that they will feel comfortable hiding out in

Good luck!

Ok

All the eggs have hatched and I think I have well over 3500+ frys. (yep 3500+ yikes.gif)

I dump a bunch in the pond that has algae in it and almost a year old.

The water lilies just started to grow again.

I am totally surprised by the number of fry I have now.

I was expecting a few hundred fry.

But a few thousand is way too much ohmy.gif .

I wonder how many good live fish I will end up with.

Just started the brine shrimp process.

Can't wait to see who their parents are.

Oh my good lord, you have how many fry. You have your work cut out for you? Good luck with your new children. Your many new children LOL.

My God! I am speechless. ohmy.gif

You would need another hen farm to provide enough egg yolk for them. hehe wink.gif

Wow those pictures are great!!!!
So many babies!!

Im so glad you posted the photos, I was starting to think that I was raising some sort of insect lavae for the last 5 days, but now I see that they are the same as your fish fry rolleyes.gif

I only have 22 and I feel like I have a newborn baby in the house.

Can anyone tell me how often the fish will breed PLEASE !!

I only have 2 adult Fan Tails "Peter" (Mummy) and "Wendy" (Daddy) we didn`t know what sex they were when we got them 2 years ago.

Anyway, Peter and Wendy have laid eggs 3 times in less than 2 months. The first lot got eaten sad.gif I work full time and didnt take time out to do anything about them.

The second lot hatched 5 days ago. (22 Fry)

And the third lot were laid yesterday. (No sign of fungus on the eggs and all are clear.)

I only have 2 weeks off work and if they keep laying more eggs I dont know what I will do, as it is I have the fry in a big washing up bowl.

When the third lot hatch can I put them with the other fry or will they get eaten.

Oh I forgot to mention that the Fish tank is 63 litres size, the water is room temprature 21 (65) and apart from Peter and Wendy we also have "Hook" in the tank with them, I dont know what he is, he is grey/black and speckly, at night he is more active and swims around a bit and sticks to the glass, Other than that he mostly stays stuck to the bottom of the air filter, we have had him 4 months.

You guys won't believe what just happened.

I was reading on how to coax/change the tank temperature so the fish experience seasonal change to spawn.

Well it worked!

My two Kois have spawned.

Now I'm in big trouble. Running out of tanks to house them.

I am already busy with an earlier batch of fry.

The koi spawn eggs everywhere in a 55 gallon tank.

Most eggs seems to be fertile and will take a lot work to the get the eggs out.

So the adult has been taken out.

Just very overwhelm with fry and eggs in a short time.

My fancy goldfish spawn again! wall.gif

Leaving the eggs alone this time.
