hello my snail has been floating for hours now half out of his shell and isnt responding to me touching him every so often he sticks out his antennas and thats all ...earlier he looked like he was gonna come all the way out then my goldie hit him and he went half in ....now its back to the same thing ..so i moved him out of the tank and into a smaller one so nothing would happen to him.
yesterday all he did was sit in a corner with the door to his shell shut tight and came out only for 1 hour to eat a bit of an algea pellet then went back in ....whats wrong with him?

If he moves when you touch him then he is alive. Snails do fall out of their shells when they die and then their bodies will float to the top of the tank.

I don't know what could be wrong with him. Is he new? Moving him to the new tank may have stressed him out even more so I would be careful with that.

Anyone else have an idea of what could be wrong with him?

Sorry to hear your snail is apparently not feeling well. I'm new to snails myself, but I would suggest that you keep the tank that you have placed him in pretty dark. Most animals when not feeling well need to be kept in a dark and quiet location.

Snails sometime attend to float because they have to
mutch air in there shells.
And like florissa said he is of course still alive if he is comeing out.
I would of done the samething like you have putting
him in anotther aquarium was a good thing.
I hope his alright.
