Wow water changes are so much easier witha moterized gravel vac, or even a gravel vac period lol. Anyway now i can afford the time to change my fish tank more often so what is the proper amount of changes per week and how much for each water change?

Also, just wondering, my water in my tank was really clody and i used the proper dose of Sparkling Clear in their tank and it did nothing. Then last night I did a 50% water change and added more and it did nothing. Then Today I did a 50% water change and the water looked the same, but then I used the sparkling clear right after I changed the water and it worked right away... weird

Don't change the water too often. You don't want to kill off the bacteria!

Once a week is sufficient unless you're medicating, or having problems with your levels, etc. I change 30% weekly, but it varies for other people. Do you have test kits for your Ammonia, Nitrites, and Nitrates?? If no, then you should get these asap, so you can see for yourself how long it takes for your water to get bad, then you can judge how much water you'll need to change. It's not an exact science, but if you're able to see your levels consistently, you'll be able to judge from there. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

Check your water parimeters before doing a water change more than once a week.
