What can I use to sterilize a wound? I am making a goldfish medikit, and seeing if I can use the stuff I already have. Is hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol on the wounds as oppose to iodine okay? Iodine is cheap, but I don't happen to have any around, and need to see if any of the other two I mentioned is okay.

HP or iodine are fine to use. I've done both on my fish. Some
other things I've got: Neopsporin cream and ointment, Qtips,
scissors, tweezers, aquarium salt, epsom salt. I do have rubbing
alcohol in the house, but use it ONLY for sterilizing the scissors
(wen trimming) or cleaning glass before applying silicone.
