I dont see a real problem except that your KH is going down. Did you test for ammonia hun? Nitrates should be at that level thats the last of the water and with goldfish this will always be there.

What kinds of things are in the tank?

Has your Ph always been at this level?

What is your KH out of the tap?
charmedbyfish
im sorry i may be a bit new but i dont know what kh is sad.gif
well the last couple of times i used the bottle water the ph was a bit lower but not by much
in the tank i have 2 plants 1 small and 1 med a heater a whisper filter an air stone thats long and sits on the ground like a bubble wall a small thing that looks like and old wall with bricks but its only 2 inches tall and a med archway in the middle with some design on it ...3 lil moving jelly fish at the bottom of the tank they dont float just move very very slowley with the current

by the way i never used tap water for the tank other people i know say use the bottled water so i did but i think im gonna switch to the tap and treat it before i do the change

ps i bought amquel+ how long after i treat the water with it shoulld i wait to do water changes with it ?( good to know in the future) thanks again ill be waiting for your reply
koko
With Amquel you don't have to wait. Just do a water change and added to either the tank or the bucket of water that your going to dump into the tank.

KH is what makes the Ph from dropping. If the Ph moves 1ppms your fish can go into shock, this is the reason the KH needs to get to a stable rate. Now that your using Bottled water, most likely it doesn't have enough of the good minerals, and iron things like that to keep the KH from moving. Personally I would test your Tap water and then slowly if the tap is good do small water changes with the tap. But make sure the levels of the KH and Ph are darn close together. biggrin.gif

hmm, I dun see any problem with current setting and running..

I was shocked to see the title stating ammonia at 6.0!! but looking at the description, it looks fine to me..

should let the new tank run a bit.. this is a new tank symptom when owners tends to be anxious and worry.. well, i even took urgent leave and rush home and sat in front of my tank back then when I was setting up my tank.. haha

anyway, back to your tank.. 10 gallon.. how many fishes?? and for a start, dun feed too much and try to keep water clean..

Keep us posted

ok i dont have any fish now but i useually have 2 fish ( its only till i get the money for the 30 gl bow front w/ stand at pet smart)
i know i need to switch soon so i cut all expenses that are not needed
i have the fish in a qt tank cuz of anchor worms and i did a full cleaning of the tank with bakingsoda so i could get rid of the eggs .
here are the stats of the tap water
nitrate about 10 - 15
nitrite 0
hardness i would say 25 maybe 50 the two colors look the same really <_<
alkalinity sorry but it looks like in the middle of 0 and 80 which both are bad
ph 6.8
ammonia .50
ok how do i make this good for my fishies and when should i do the water change ?
koko
Okay if there isnt any fish in the tank it will be alot easier for the tank then we can work on the fish going into the tank biggrin.gif

First since you KH (alk) is lower end I would add some crushed coral to the tank this will make the tank more stable. Since its a 10 gal tank I would go with about 1/4 of a cup......You can find this stuff at a LFS if they have saltwater fish. Now since you do have ammonia in the water you will want to do a water change and see were the ammonia level is going to land in the tank. Sometimes with just a hint of it in the water the tanks good bio bugs can handle it on there own if not we will have to go with ammonia binder in the filter biggrin.gif

Also lets see how the Ph will be in the tank once you do a water change out of the tap......biggrin.gif
charmedbyfish
i did it! all the stats on the tank are perfect now and i did a 20% water change
i cant belive it all worked out ...now koko since the alk is were it should be do you think i should still go out and get the crushed coral before i put them in ?
i would really like to thank everyone that helped me biggrin.gif
only one problem one of the fish in the qt tank looks like he is gonna die sad.gif
he just dosent want to play with the other one all he does is hide at the bottom of the tank and if he does move its only to eat he kinda just hovers when he isnt eating ive seen that he is pooping and they i read as long as he eats and poops he is fine ...its just he looks worn out or something i dont know whats wrong with them ...the water in the qt tank is perfect ive been doing water changes every couple of days and he was fine but since yesterday he just dosent want to move i hope i dont loose him wish me luck i mean he did go through a lot with the worms he had i just hope he pulls trough
