I was at the fish store yesterday, and of course rather than just staying in the supply section, I went back and looked at the fish. There was just an absolutely gorgeous (to me, anyway), white betta. I just couldn't resist him, so he came home with me. He is very white and metallic, with just a touch of colour on the edge of his caudal fin. We have called him Vanilla, although he should probably be called something like Snowflake or Icicle

Very nice! I LOVE the white/pastel bettas! They're completely drool worthy! I had this gorgeous yellow bettas with just a hint of blue near the ends of the rays on his caudal fin. He was one nice fishy! Unfortunately he passed on due to an internal bacterial infection but he was a beauty. Hope yours has better luck than mine did. He's gorgeous!

I found him at one of the chain pet stores, Super Pet. I always look at the bettas, but I haven't seen a white one like this fellow before

Touchofsky, I am like you, I can't go into a pet store of any kind (even nnnnnn <_< ) and not make time to look at the bettas.........It is an addiction!! I have even told my Hubby, "Don't bother with roses, a dozen bettas would be just fine!!" He bought me a female betta a few weeks ago. She was white with red fins. She was so pretty!! Unfortunately, she passed away two weeks after I got her. I think it was some sort of fungus.

Just a thought on fungus/bacterial problems One of my guys ripped a fin last weekend, and it looked as though it could have become a problem, so I used Jungle Fungus Eliminator, and it worked great. Overnight, the fin started to heal and it stopped the problem in its tracks. On the label it says that it clears serious fungus and bacterial problems.

I think it is a good thing to keep in the medicine chest, just in case Other than cying the water a weird yellow colour, there hasn't been any other problems. I'll let you know how my cycle holds up to it.

I usually am quite indecisive when I try and pick out bettas, and I ponder over which one to chose.

Well, this time I wasn't in the market for a betta, but when I saw this guy, I just picked up his cup and bought him. No thinking or deciding. I just wanted him. He is living in my quarantine tank. So, now I have no quarantine tank

i dont blame you for grabbing him! i would have done the same thing. no doubt. are his eyes blue? or is that just a reflection off of something blue? it sure looks like they are blue to me! if they are, what would you think about calling him frank? you know, after "ole blue eyes" frank sinatra. just a thought!

I'll take a look tomorrow and tell you about his eyes. I haven't noticed the colour of them. He is in bed for the night

He does have blue eyes! Isn't that neat! I looked this morning, and he has the dark pupil, then a thin ring around the pupil that is blue, flecked with the darker colour. I am amazed Thank you for pointing that out.

oh great! i am soooo jealous! that has to be my favorite betta that i have ever seen! i wonder if that is a somewhat common trait with the lighter colored bettas? or any of them for that matter. *sighs* i wish i could find high quality bettas such as that. all the ones that i ever see are somewhat plain and sickly looking from their stay in the prison cups. oh well, i guess ill just have to keep looking! enyoy your little treasure, touchofsky, he truly is one marvelous betta!

Thanks, Paul The little guy is settling in really well and has taken to his betta bites with a good appetite. So far, so good. I think he is enjoying 5 gallons of water

You know I love white fish, too, however, I can't look at a white fish in the stores now without thinking of you

He is JUST BEAUTIFUL! I will now be on the look out for a white Betta. I didn't know they even existed. Gosh he is gorgeous. Is he agressive? Do you have in a tank by himself or with others?

Is there such a thing as a black Betta? I would LOVE to have a black and a white one! Seperate tanks of course

WOW I have NEVER seen any betta like that! Any other white betta is always like peachish/seethough, but yours is really a shiney white. AMAZING
