Full Version: Cloudy Water Is This Filter Enough?

Hi my tank has been running for 1 1/2 years all is great water quility is good all areas within specs. have a older Fluvall 3 filter, water seems to have a slight cloudy look, water changes weekly tried reduce feeding filter media cleaned in tank water weekly, nothing seems to clear water? should i change to a larger filter? I don't know how much the fluvall filter per hour? please help. tank is 30 gallon with three, 3 inch orandas also i run 2 airstones.

yes , but mine looks older the foam and charcoal are one unit,

Okay this one runs at 185 gallons per hour or 700 liters per hour.

Now what is your gallons for your tank?

that one says max 34 gallons, should i go up to fluval 4plus?

Your tank is cycleing at 6 times an hour. We always suggest with goldfish since they are so messy, 10 times an hour....the #4 would only give you a 8 times an hour that would get you by but I might go if you can an Hang on the back filter of about 300 GPH. biggrin.gif

which one do you suggest? I'am in Canada, is the aqua clear one good?

Aqua Clear is a great inexpensive filter......Allot of people here use it biggrin.gif
