i don,t have live plants in my tank just silk and plastic. any time limit to leave on your light.

Since my tanks don't require lights, I use natural sunlight. If I were to use lights, I would try and emulate the sun's timing. More importantly, they need a set time to sleep in the dark since they have no eye lids. I would say at least 7 hours of darkness. So, I suppose you could leave the lights on for about 12 hours of the day and have natural room light for the remainder of the day (5 hours). That all sounds reasonable to me. Timers are nice to have in that situation. How big's the tank?

got a 46 gal corner tank.. been having my tank flo. lights on about 10 hrs then for a couple i use my desk flo. light shine in at a angle gives a good effect. gives light in center of tank then it darkens as it gos out from center gives a good effect. then turn off lights at bed time

I have a 10 gallon tank with a black moor and an oranda i leave my light on for 8 hours max.

I've got all my tanks on timers. Start up is 6am and shut down is 10pm.
