Hi,
I'm trying to cycle a 135 gallon tank, how much fishfood do I need to add? I added about 80 shrimp pellets, and a bottle of cycle (the previous owner had it, so I dumped it all in). That was yesterday, and today I measured the ammonia, it says 0. Does this most likely mean that the cycle stuff I put in already reduced the ammonia levels, or is it most likely, not enough food? or not enough time for the food to rot? Its been like 20 hours.

The fish food has to decompose before you'll see an ammonia presence. Don't bother with the fish food, you're just making life hard on yourself. Use bottled pure ammonia instead.

The problem is I am worried it is not "pure" ammonia. The closest to maybe pure I saw is "wizard" brand "pure ammonia", with bittrex (to add a bitter taste?) I shaked it, and it didn't foam on the top. Does that mean its good?

Not foaming is good. I assume the bittrex is fine, since it is used in products to discourage nail-biters. If there's a chance someone might consume it and it's fine for that purpose, it's probably fine for the fish!
Generic brands are usually good bets for "pure" ammonia.

Thanks a lot!
Its a tank I'm setting up for my dad, he doesn't want any more goldfish unfortunetly, so I'm getting him some african cichlids. The water is starting to stink, so i assume its working.. high ammonia (about 4ppm). Hopefully it'll come down in a few days.
