For my tank, I have been told that I should let the water sit before changing (at least 12 hours) since the pH changes fairly substantially. It changes from 8.8 to 8.0 just from sitting out overnight. My question is, how do I make the water that sits out all night the same Temperature as the tank? My house runs on the cold side and I'm in Ohio, so it's freaking cold here right now wink.gif

Is this a big issue or should I mostly be worried about the pH change? (my tank btw is at a Temperature of 74 degrees)

What is the temp of the water? in the buckets

and what is the temp of the tank if you dump the water into the tank?

Well I did a little water change today (about 10%) just to make sure that the water is still clean (even though the water is testing 0 for nitrites and ammonia I just am being cautious--I don't know the nitrates, I can't find a test around here <_< )

I don't know what the temp of the bucket water was, but I'd guess around room temperature which is around 65. When I changed the water, I checked for a change in temperature and I didn't notice one. But I didn't change too much water so that may be why...
