I was out shopping last week and I saw this neat little cooler bag.. There are a few fish store around me that dont put the fish bag in a brown paper bag when they sell it to you, so if I forget to bring one the fish gets quite stressed from the light and is also vunerable to temperature change. So keeping a little cooler bag like this one in your car you can just pop the baggie into it if they dont give you one and its dark and insulated making the journey home as comfortable as possible for your new little fishy!

I have one of those! I will bring it when I get my new moor! They use paper bags at the lfs but the temps are reallt hot here right now and I have to travel about 20 minutes. Great idea!

Totally agree Lucy! I got one like that free from a supermarket the other day  They are great for transporting fishies! My LFS double plastic bag, paper bag and then plastic-carrier-bag the fish they sale, but using one of these things helps to keep the fish even more comfortable on the way home by maintaining the water temp, keeping things dark to help reduce stress and by giving extra padding and protection. I used to use a bucket and towel but these things are ideal :D

:) That is such a good tip! Thanks for sharing, I would never have thought to do that. I have some of those little cooler bags on hand, so one will be used for that. I always put the bag in my big purse just to protect it a bit more then the plastic bags the lfs uses.

Thanks, my next purchases will appreciate it! :yeah:

I used this one today when I went to get my new moor, thanks Lucy! I have two or three of those cooler things already and had never thought to use them for transporting fish. It was pretty hot here today and I had to stop one place on the way home so i was a lot less worried about the little guy being the bag. Thanks again for posting this!
