Hi all. I came up with this simple tip to make those stick on thermometers reusable, so they can be moved from tank to tank. All you need is a piece of plastic (cling film/kitchen wrap) wrap, and a pair of scissors.
Lay the thermometer face down on a flat surface. Remove the white tape from the adhesive (upward facing) side. Place a piece of kitchen wrap over the adhesive side and smooth out evenly and tightly, trying not to get any bubbles. Run the edge of a pair of scissors along the edges of the thermometer to trim any excess wrap, and viola the static wrap will adhere to the tank glass and can be moved from location to location without affecting its efficiency.

Oh I know it! I remember putting one on one of my old tanks, and the darn thing wouldnt come off!!! I refuse to use them now, but thats an awsome idea! I use the ones that go in the tank, and suction to the side of the tank. But OMG, thats brilliant....
great tip! :heart

Have to give my 14 year old daughter credit for planting the seed in my brain tho.
I use the suction cup 'inside the tank' type myself, but I always have one or two stick-ons handy for emergencies. wouldn't be the first time I've broken a Therm. while cleaning it. Stick- ons can also be handy for checking accuracy, but they are a pain to remove and are one use; but no longer!! :D
Cheers

I ripped my first thermometer when I tried to move it and since then bought another to try this tip with...
I have the saran wrap smoothly on the back and it doesn't stick worth nothin :( I had to scotch tape it into place. :(
I wonder why it didn't work for me.
